PTI founder Imran Khan has claimed that the establishment is in control of the country, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been relegated to mere ceremonial duties, such as ribbon-cutting.

Islamabad: PTI founder Imran Khan has asserted that the establishment is running the country, with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) at the helm.

During a conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan emphasized that transparent elections are the only way to save Pakistan. “If the establishment wants to save the country, they must move towards transparent elections. In which democracy are civilians tried in military courts? The establishment is in power and SIFC is running the country,” he stated.

Khan expressed his frustration over his treatment, saying, “I am being treated as if I have committed a major betrayal against Pakistan. The current government has destroyed the nation’s hopes. No one trusts this government anymore. The elections witnessed historic rigging.”

The PTI founder criticized Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, stating, “Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is sending us to the Election Commission for justice. Everyone knows that the Election Commission conducted fraudulent elections. Qazi Faez Isa is asking why intra-party elections were not held. Doesn’t the Chief Justice know our entire party was underground? Why are our human rights petitions and the February 8 petition not being heard in the Supreme Court?”

He further highlighted the economic crisis, noting, “In 2021, the country’s debt was 2.8 trillion. In four years, it has increased to 8 to 9 trillion. The poor, who had a 2,000 bill, now have a 10,000 bill. All the elite have their money stashed abroad. During our tenure, terrorism was at its peak. I will definitely go on a hunger strike; I am just waiting for some decisions.”
