Speaker Suspends Sergeant-at-Arms Over Parliament Security Lapse.
National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has suspended Muhammad Ashfaq Ashraf, the Grade 20 Sergeant-at-Arms, for four months due to a security lapse in Parliament. In addition, four security personnel have also been suspended for the same period.
The suspended individuals include Security Assistant Waqas Ahmed and three Junior Assistant Security Officers, Obaidullah, Waheed Safdar, and Muhammad Haroon.
Earlier, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had taken notice of the arrests of PTI leaders from the Parliament House and issued production orders for the detained MNAs. He vowed action regarding the arrests made within Parliament and requested video footage from all entrances and key areas of the Parliament House.
