Supreme Court Upholds Closure of National Park Restaurants, Dismisses Monal’s Review Petitions.

Supreme Court

The decision to keep restaurants in the national park area closed has been upheld, and review petitions related to Monal Restaurant have been dismissed.

The Supreme Court, in its ruling on the review petitions filed by restaurants in the national park area, rejected the appeals and maintained its original decision to close the restaurants.

Additionally, the court withdrew its previous observation that had favored the restaurants, which suggested they would be given priority in leasing other locations.

The judgment stated that the restaurants had voluntarily committed to closing within three months. Filing review petitions despite this commitment was seen as a mockery of the court and contemptuous.

The court further clarified that it had previously instructed the CDA to offer preferential treatment to these restaurants for leasing in other areas. However, the court has now withdrawn this preference and ordered strict compliance with its original decision.

It should be noted that two months ago, the Supreme Court had ordered the complete closure of Monal and all other restaurants on Pir Sohawa Road in the national park within three months.
