Father of two in Karachi’s Manghopir area commits suicide due to severe economic hardship.

Karachi: In a heart-wrenching incident, a father of two daughters, overwhelmed by economic hardship, committed suicide in the Manghopir area of Karachi.

According to a spokesperson for Karachi Police, the incident took place near Mir Muhammad Goth, Qasim Agency, where the man shot himself in the head at his residence. Police arrived at the scene promptly upon receiving the report. The injured man was being transported to the hospital for medical aid but succumbed to his injuries due to excessive blood loss on the way. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Hizbullah, son of Mishal Khan.

In an interview with Express, the grieving father Mishal Khan revealed that Hizbullah had two daughters and worked as a rented rickshaw driver. Originally from Waziristan, the family had moved to Karachi in 2006. Mishal Khan shared that Hizbullah’s income was inconsistent; sometimes he found passengers, other times he had to do daily labor to make ends meet. However, with soaring inflation, the family often faced starvation, and his young daughters frequently went hungry. In recent days, Hizbullah had been extremely distressed as there was no money or food in the house.

Around 2:30 AM, the family was awakened by the sound of gunfire. Rushing to the courtyard, they found Hizbullah lying in a pool of blood.

This tragic incident highlights the severe economic struggles faced by many in Karachi, leading to such devastating outcomes.
