‘Palestine Collection’: Renowned Designer Maria B Apologizes for Copying Turkish Artist’s Design

Pakistan’s renowned fashion designer Maria B has apologized for copying a young Turkish artist’s design for her ‘Palestine Collection.’

Recently, Maria B launched her new collection based on Palestinian designs, announcing that the proceeds from this fashion campaign would be donated to the people of Palestine. The collection included abayas, T-shirts, kurtas for both women and men, and other clothing items, with each outfit priced at 10,000 Pakistani rupees.

After the launch of the Palestine Collection, Maria B was accused of stealing the design from a young Turkish artist. However, she has now apologized for this act of copying. In an apology posted on her Instagram Stories, Maria B said, “In the fast-paced world of social media, I mistakenly and unknowingly copied the design of a Turkish artist for my Palestine Collection, for which I apologize.”

She further mentioned that she has contacted the young Turkish artist and has apologized to her as well for using her design in the collection. Maria B also stated that she will now collaborate with the young Turkish artist for her Palestine Collection and will continue to raise donations for the people of Palestine.

Maria B explained that she used the Palestinian flag and other Palestinian symbols in her collection because it was inspired by the ‘Palestinian movement.’ Meanwhile, the young Turkish artist also confirmed through social media that she is now working with Maria B.
